You all explore the internet but how much do you know of internet? Your browse through many websites in a day such as Google, Youtube, Facebook, etc. But the internet is not merely limited to these websites and it is actually vast that you cannot even imagine.

In this article, we will talk about three levels of the internet that have their own accessibility restrictions viz. Surface web, Deep web and last but not the least Dark web. Surface is available to all the ordinary people but deep and dark web are limited to some specific users. Let's see what actually are these in detail and understand the concept behind each.

Surface Web

First of all, the most common, Surface Web, which is only available to all the ordinary people like us and they can vist websites like Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. It forms just 45% of the internet. In surface web, an user can simply visit a websites and explore all the pages without any kind of restrictions. This is the upper layer of the internet in which all the websites are indexed in search engines like Bing, Google, etc. This is basically meant for entertainment, social media, information and downloading contents. Suppose if we search something in Google, we get a list of websites and these websites form the surface web.  Surface web forms a small part of the internet.

Deep Web

Deep web is the part of the internet which comes after the surface web. And, only some specific people can explore it. Suppose If I make a website and there is one page that contains some sensitive information and I don't want to show it to everyone but to some specific people, then I will hide it in the deep web. This page is not indexed with search engines except the pages that I want to show to everyone. In order to access secret pages in deep web, users have to enter their username and password. Deep web is present under many layers in the internet to restrict its access. All the goverment files and data which need to be stored online is kept in the deep web

Dark Web

Dark web is the bottom of the internet which is quite risky to access for normal internet users. It forms 98% of the internet. Dark web is completely away from the reach of normal people as they are not in search engines, or anywhere. All illegal stuffs happen in the dark web like drug dealing, selling stolen credit cards, hiring shooters, human trafficking, adult contents, etc. Only who works in dark web can access it. In dark web, people sell illegal things that we can't even name it. I recommend you not to access dark web as it can risk your precious life. If you open dark web, you will see a man torchering someone, murders and everything is live. In dark web, you can also make a fake passport of any country by paying some money and all transactions are done in bitcoins. One weird fact about this, here ghost are also sold and this is very popular from Thailand.

The only way to access the dark web is through tor browser as it hides your IP address.
